Getting Started

  1. Contact us through email or call us

Our Clinical coordinator, Emmie, will be delighted to reply to your email or answer your call. She will explain our intake procedures and ask few general questions in order to best understand your needs and satisfactorily answer all your questions. (Utmost confidentiality will be maintained according to the ethical standards outlined by our professional governing bodies).

After reviewing all the details, one of our experienced Therapists will contact you and set up a time for a free phone consultation. At this consultation, the therapist can recommend how we can support your child in reaching his/her full potential. The therapist will review the various assessments with you and guide you to choose the right one for your child. This is also the time that the therapist can help you understand the various services available at Symbiosis

  2. Download and complete the new client forms before coming in for an evaluation

If requested, our clinical coordinator can email or mail you the required forms.

  3. Contact the funding agencies for funding of the Therapy assessment and consultation.

Behavior Consultancy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Physiotherapy services are covered by various agencies/funding protocols including but not limited to Autism Funding Unit, At Home Medical Benefits program, home school agencies, Variety Children’s’ Charity etc. Click here for more information about these resources.

  4. Come for an Assessment

Based on the discussion with the therapist during the free phone consultation, you will be given an appointment date during which  our experienced therapist will conduct an assessment or clinical consultation with your child.

During the evaluation, the therapist will meet with you and discuss the developmental history and all relevant information regarding your child. The therapist will also spend time with your child conducting some clinical observations. At the end, the therapist will update you with a brief overview of the assessment based on the performance of your child. A written document which will include results of the assessment and recommendations and suggestions for the treatment session will be provided at a later date.

  5. Start therapy sessions

Our Clinical Coordinator will work with you to schedule therapy sessions for your child. With a large team of experienced therapists available around the week, we pride ourselves in finding a time just right for you and your family.

  6. Re-evaluation

At predetermined intervals, we'll do a re-evaluation and discuss your child’s progress with you. We ensure that we set measurable goals that help us keep track of your child’s gains in functional skills.
